Movie Review: AGNEEPATH (4/5)

leave a comment »

Is it a remake or is it a tribute ? I watched the old one right after watching new one and saw huge difference in story telling. I will say it is a canned-food, just add some veggies and spice it up.

I Like:

  • cinematography
  • direction
  • background score sets the mood
  • 1-2 songs were good
  • Masterji was effective
  • young-Viju was convincing.. best scene with gun in his hand
  • Rishi K ka extreme kaminapan, but last two lines of his life were a bit too much for commercial movie goers.. still shocking performance
  • Priynka’s chinese beauty parlor… Her thumkas and Kat’s zhatkas,
  • HR’s every-guys-dream-looks and every-girls-dream-man persona with stupendous performance…
  • Sanjay Dutt’s takla (bald head)..he was scaaaaryyyy !!! to one end is Munnabhai and the other end is Kancha … he has balanced his career.
  • HR and SD matching was perfect unlike AB and Danny’s.

  • Unnecessary songs (everyone agrees??….Yes) … Thank god they didn’t show romantic the song in rain.
  • loooonnngggg
  • two stabs and 3 big scratches on the body…seriously ??? its soooo bollywoodish !!!

This movie could have enjoyed the similar fate as RGV’s Sholay…. but the top actors saved it and of course KJo’s backing.

Coffee or not to be

leave a comment »

I like coffee. I like the aroma of it. I like to have it once in a while with a double chocolate cookie. My idea of enjoying coffee is to be in a cafe with a beautiful smart girl engaged in humorous conversation with a cup of Mocha. I love Mocha.

But in the corporate culture coffee is seen a medium of success and achievement. Its good to drink a cup of coffee when you need that instant boost mainly on Mondays. But sipping a mug every hour is just ridiculous. I have worked in two start-up companies where at least one of the manager is coffoholic. I mean there is more coffee than blood in their body.

I understand they have immense amount of work load but coffee is not the solution. Having gallons a day will only make it worse. Like correcting a word on that 13th line of fifth slide becomes their high priority of the day. It not only make their mental balance uneven but also makes their body structure shaky. I swear i have seen their hands vibrating.

This also puts pressure on other employees like:

– more work load and aggressive response.
– coffoholics are so hyper all day it just makes you depress to see them highly motivated all time.
– yellow teeth and stinking breath. Sometimes it feels like they bathe in coffee. It just degrades the aroma of coffee for others.

Anyways all i want to say is drink coffee in responsibly. If not for your health but for other around you whom you do not want to suffocate.

Having a coffee is good but it not good to be a coffee.

Motorola Droid Maxx – Battery on steroids !!

leave a comment »

Claiming exceptional battery life, with 21.5 hours of continuous talk time Motorola is ready to challenge its competitors in this power supply segment of the worlds most used technology. Motorola Droid Maxx can also playback native videos for 15 hours, 10 hours of GPS navigation, and 6 hours of HD streaming over Verizon’s LTE network.

It’s like a battery is on steroids. Device power is the most common issue consumer faces everyday. Most popular smartphones in the market needs to be charged 2-3 times in a day which is very frustrating. Many manufacturers focuses on stuffing every piece of gadget in to one device others focus on improving chip design where as most wants HD playback and HD screens.

But Motorola has put a step forward in pushing the limits of power supply and provide the kick for companies like Samsung and Apple to stress battery life on phones for true full-day use. This will give Motorola a competitive edge.

The only question remains is the life of that battery. How long it will live to give such boost all the time before eventually dying and crashing that awesome game you were playing which you didn’t save. Well only the time will tell.

Fragile World

with one comment

Yesterday  one of my friend posted an image of new laptop from Samsung series 9. It claims to be the thinnest laptop. Then I started making list in my mind of things that are created thinner and thinner every year. TVs, Mobiles, Laptops, Tablets and many more. There is race going for creating thinner products and Cell Phones/Mobiles/Smartphones topped that list. Every new device in the market claims to be thinner than other. How thin a device can actually get ? Thinner than a paper ? Nano technology has proved it’s potential to make technology works at microscopic level. Which means we should be able to make paper thin televisions and displays in the near future.

But technology is not the only place things are getting thinner. Even food culture share the similar idea. Snack foods like Thinsation is the perfect example. Small portion meal for healthy living. This idea also applies to humans. Everyone wants to be size-zero (well not everyone actually, but you get my point, eh? ). People run miles and miles to become thin. Clothing is another industry which makes slim cut designs.

So this just got me thinking how fragile everything and everyone will be. Everything will come labeled “Fragile: Handle With Care”. Well it’s just a thought. Let me know what you think if you got couple of seconds to pass time.

Monster Gym recommended

Monster Gym recommended.

Monster Gym is one of the most famous gym in Montreal and it has recommended AB workout for beginner/intermediate:

-3 sets x 20 reps crunches
-3 sets x 20 reps leg lifts
-3 sets x 20 per side, side crunches

30-60 seconds rest in between sets. This will work the overall core ( upper abs, lower abs and obliques).

I gave it a shot yesterday and it is really a great Ab workout which can be done at home on those really cold days when you just don’t want to get out of the house.

Next I will put some more advance core/ab workouts that I am trying recently.

Curve that Treadmill !!

leave a comment »

So last year my gym,

Moster Gym, got this new CURVE treadmill which is curve at the bottom. It also do not need any electricity. It is supposed to burn up to 30% more calories than conventional motorized treadmills because the user is actually powering the running surface, thus engaging more

muscle groups and achieving a superior workout. Whether you are walking, jogging or running it will spin depending on your speed.

Research studies have proven that users are able to reach similar cardiovascular exercise levels and caloric burn walking on the CURVE treadmill in comparison to running on conventional motorized units.

Now I have tried it and it is amazing. You will sweat from 0 to a liter in just 10 min. But it is hard to get use-to to this not because of it’s unconventional form but because of the availability. Everybody wants it, don’t you ? :)

A jam session in your ears !!! Aromale (My Beloved) – Ekk Deewana Tha

with 2 comments

This is not an original song. It is a Hindi version of famous A.R. Rehman composed Malayalam song (which can be heard here) for the upcoming movie Ekk Deewana Tha . I will not say which one is better because my understanding of  mallu language is zero. But this is by doubt one of the best composition from A.R.Rehman and the singer Alphons Joseph has superbly set the mood.
