Self-Checkout Chaos

leave a comment »

It was saturday night, I went to the groceries to pick up some chips, drinks and dessert. I was hopping my trip to be in-n-out in 5min. I was in good mood, smiling roaming around the ailes and checking out interesting people 😉 I got my items and headed to the counter. Two out of six counters were open and I always wonder when are all the counter ever open. Then I thought to give a shot to self-checkout.

I am not a big fan of self-checkout. There is no human interaction there unless you mess up something or want bags for your items. But still I has only three cases so I thought it will be super quick. But to my dismay I was obstructed by two interesting people who must have spent at least 20min there.

First of all self-checkout should not be for old people. They just spend hours there trying to figure out what to do next. Second people with hundred items should not be allowed. They not only spend hours scanning their items but also filling them in their bag. Unless they are done filling their bags no other person and move on.

So one person ahead of me shopped like its the end of the world (or may be she has big family, no idea). She took 15min to finish scanning her items. After she finished I thought good its my turn now. But oh no scumbag machine had a scumbag plan. Unless the person before you removes all the items from the counter the second person cannot proceed. So I had to wait for another 10 min for her to finish loading her items in her cart.

On the other self-checkout machine a weird looking guy was scanning his items but could not hear the machine shouting “please remove the items” as he keep scanning the same thing again and again. A lady from the counter had to shout at the person to hold back and let the machine rewind.

So basically my pleasant journey to the grocery quickly turned out into a frustrating one. But never the less it is always fun to see interesting memes online and in knowing that you are not the only one 🙂

Happy shopping everyone !!

The Joy of New Car !!

with 2 comments

So I finally got my first car ever after waiting for 2-1/2 months. This car is not any extraordinary or special edition car in-fact its the most basic model of Civic. The reason I decided to put my feelings about this car here is because IT IS MY FIRST CAR. And also mention about the most likes I ever got on facebook for posting it 😀

For me becoming an engineer, getting a car, buying a house, getting marries etc .. are milestones of a persons life. I have already achieved the degree and now I acquired this black beauty. I am thankful to my Uncle-Aunt whose love and support helped me accomplish the first two milestones.

So the new journey begins here and I am looking forward to give my parents their first ride on their only son’s first car. And lots of long trips. Super excited !!! 😀

Coffee or not to be

leave a comment »

I like coffee. I like the aroma of it. I like to have it once in a while with a double chocolate cookie. My idea of enjoying coffee is to be in a cafe with a beautiful smart girl engaged in humorous conversation with a cup of Mocha. I love Mocha.

But in the corporate culture coffee is seen a medium of success and achievement. Its good to drink a cup of coffee when you need that instant boost mainly on Mondays. But sipping a mug every hour is just ridiculous. I have worked in two start-up companies where at least one of the manager is coffoholic. I mean there is more coffee than blood in their body.

I understand they have immense amount of work load but coffee is not the solution. Having gallons a day will only make it worse. Like correcting a word on that 13th line of fifth slide becomes their high priority of the day. It not only make their mental balance uneven but also makes their body structure shaky. I swear i have seen their hands vibrating.

This also puts pressure on other employees like:

– more work load and aggressive response.
– coffoholics are so hyper all day it just makes you depress to see them highly motivated all time.
– yellow teeth and stinking breath. Sometimes it feels like they bathe in coffee. It just degrades the aroma of coffee for others.

Anyways all i want to say is drink coffee in responsibly. If not for your health but for other around you whom you do not want to suffocate.

Having a coffee is good but it not good to be a coffee.

Fragile World

with one comment

Yesterday  one of my friend posted an image of new laptop from Samsung series 9. It claims to be the thinnest laptop. Then I started making list in my mind of things that are created thinner and thinner every year. TVs, Mobiles, Laptops, Tablets and many more. There is race going for creating thinner products and Cell Phones/Mobiles/Smartphones topped that list. Every new device in the market claims to be thinner than other. How thin a device can actually get ? Thinner than a paper ? Nano technology has proved it’s potential to make technology works at microscopic level. Which means we should be able to make paper thin televisions and displays in the near future.

But technology is not the only place things are getting thinner. Even food culture share the similar idea. Snack foods like Thinsation is the perfect example. Small portion meal for healthy living. This idea also applies to humans. Everyone wants to be size-zero (well not everyone actually, but you get my point, eh? ). People run miles and miles to become thin. Clothing is another industry which makes slim cut designs.

So this just got me thinking how fragile everything and everyone will be. Everything will come labeled “Fragile: Handle With Care”. Well it’s just a thought. Let me know what you think if you got couple of seconds to pass time.
